I am fully aware I am human. But i have that animawl in me. I do not feel human in any significant way. In many ways animals are far more relatable than any human to me, in a deeper way than what i think is “normal”. I look into myself and there is not a human. i am an animal person, i am a shapeshifter, i am so, so many things.

And no, i am not attracted to animals. animals do not understand consent. i also believe fostering such attractions instead of redirecting them can end up very bad far too easily.
i do not believe i can more directly communicate with animals. Animal whisperers do not exist. Acting out animal behavior as a human is not clearly understandable to animals.
I do not believe I am the be all end all of how animals act just because i am one on some level. If I am mistaken about an animal’s behavior, then I am truly mistaken. I do not have a sixth sense. I am still human.
Therianthropy and otherkin is not about forcing yourself to be anything else, it is not about having an excuse to be terrible to animals, it is about recognizing and accepting the nonhuman urges and feelings inside of you, when they exist.
To me, in many ways, it is also about recognizing the fluidity of life in the grand scale of time. it is about recognizing that i am a slurry of everything. it is about recognizing that i am but a blip for the atoms inside me. all animals flow through me and from me all animals will flow. i look at an animal and in my mind there is a recognition of the self.
at the end of the day i am still a human. but i would prefer to be, and strongly feel like, something else. i am something else.
